When it comes to stretching, cats are the masters to learn from. The cat is a lesson in how frequent stretching improves balance and flexibility.

Cats put their heart and soul into their stretches! It’s clear they know the many benefits of stretching.

For instance, stretching:

  • Keeps  joints lubricated with synovial fluid (which protects cartilage and keeps you limber)
  • Increases blood flow (bringing essential nutrients into the muscles)
  • Improves balance
  • Helps you stay alert and refreshed all day long.
  • Plus all that stretching relaxes you – which makes for a great cat nap!

It’s clear we should take a lesson in stretching from our feline friends.

The best thing about stretching is that you don’t have to be a jock to start a healthy stretching routine. It’s all about getting some gentle movement into your day. So we thought we’d bring you a little stretching inspiration – cute cats doing what they do best.

Whether you’re new to stretching (or you’re a full-on yogi), these eleven kitties are sure to put a smile on your face and inspire you to get your stretch on.
